This is deffinatley another sign of fuel pump failure right?

Sorry to hear, although if my pump failed within a few months, I would not be a happy camper after spending $50k+... Keep us posted, good luck!

You still haven't set up an appointment yet? Get on it!

I'm calling tomorrow, my crank time has gotten worse, but it fires right up if the engine is still warm.

Now I'm nervous every day.

You know almost all fuel pumps fail. It is not a question of "if", it is "when". Just hope that you are not in a situation where this can impact you.

IMO BMW should stop making 335 and fix the quality issue with 335. Talk about going on a cross country trip and have your 335 fail in some secluded area . I guess you can always star for free in some "WRONG TURN" type movie

Again, at this point it's the FP manufacturer, not BMW's fault. But, I'd say it's yet to be seen if there isn't something else that is correlating to the failure.

Chevy Silverado's ('99-'06) were inflicted with a combo fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. Both were toast. I believe I only had 20K miles if not less. I had all the same symptoms, crank time, shuttering at idle (sometimes very bad), and idle throttle surge. I dealt with it for over a year before I took it in the shop. Thankfully it didn't have a limp mode.

I've only seen a few people mention it, but I still suspect that the fuel regulator could be playing a part in the fuel pump failures by allowing either too much or too little fuel in. Or even just regulating at an inconsistent rate. Just my opinion.

EEK! I did a cross country trip near the beginning of my 335i ownership. Thankfully it didn't die.

Shiv has ~20k miles on his procede'd 335i without a single fuel pump hiccup. I'm at 7k and the same. Both our vehicles are 7/06 production.

BMW sells you the car, provides the warranty and after-sales support. If Siemens has problems with the fuel pumps that BMW is reselling then BMW has a problem. It appears BMW did not do proper testing. I don't yet have a dog in this fight (and hopefully won't ever) since my car is somewhere on a boat. I just don't think that BMW should be given a pass just because the actual manufacturer was Siemens.

You should see some of my posts about my 335. Something breaks in it every other week.
