What are options if you get HPFP....500 miles from your home dealership?

I am about to go on a road trip and just curious to know what the process would be if I get HPFP 500 miles from home. Does it get towed to the nearest dealer and I will have to either wait it out or go home then comeback?

Why is anyone afraid to go on a roadtrip? The problems with the 335 are totally known now by BMW, it's basically fighting a dealership to fix problems, not that the problems are a mystery. imho it's like anything else, your car will be towed to the nearest dealership, and you will be at their mercy and their schedule. It's not like they're going to take pity and move you ahead of their out-of-warranty customers. They don't even treat other warrantied customers well, being out-of-town doesn't give consideration.

That depends on the dealership. i'm currently some 1600 miles away, had a problem and the dealer fit me in the same day.

Under BMW's Roadside Assistance (under warranty), your vehicle will be towed to the nearest BMW dealer. They will provide you with "trip interruption" payments up to a certain amount, should you need to stay in a hotel or get a rental.

Garage List
BMW doesn't care at what BMW dealer you get your car gets serviced, so that's not an issue. But yes it will be towed to the nearest dealer.

Edit: oh as for what you would do 500 miles from home without a car ... I'm sure there are coffee shops nearby.

My car has a minor problem in it while 200 miles away from home dealership. I live in Long Island and the car had a problem near Albany.

They towed it to the nearest Bmw dealership and the car was ready the next day. The only problem was hauling my ass back up to Albany to pick it up.

One very important thing: BMW Roadside Assistance can't help you while you are on Interstate Highways. If you want them to tow your car, get off the highway and wait at a gas station or something.

So what if one gets a flat or something & can't get off the interstate, BMW Roadside will tell you GFY?!

They told me they are not allowed by State law. The person on the phone admitted that its stupid but they have no choice. So i had to get off Interstate 87 before they could come grab my car.

Apparently, the state wants you to call their own folks when you have trouble with your car so they make the money. Again, i'm only talking about NY so things might be different in other states.

The same as any other problem you would have that requires a dealer.

if your car get tow to the nearest dealer, and have the HPFP worked on, I would think they will give you a loner car to drive, you can :

1) drive 500 miles back home and then drive 500 miles back to the dealer with the loaner car (I am sure they would love you for that)

2) just wait, if they have to order the pump, I am sure they will let you know how long, lets say if they tell you its going to be a week, then go back to option 1

I would be so surprised if ANY dealership told me they had to wait to get their hands on a replacement pump.
