If that price is in Japanese yen, then the currency conversion comes to $1929.85.

No way is it worth it.

Is it worth the money? Definitely not, but that doesn't mean that I still don't want one. I'm interested in seeing a replica made for a reasonable price with a K&N filter since that's the only thing that really matters once you make a mold of the intake. I use to have a real GruppeM on my E46 that was around $500, but since then their prices have gotten retarded.

Looks cool, but not $1929 cool. PROcede or Quaife for that much (IMHO). Good find, though.

e46 m3 or other? cause 500 for that cone thing is okay... i guess alot of it has to do with the size of the intake...seems like the larger the dimension, the more the price... even if the cf isnt worth that much.

Nope, it was just a 325ci, not an M3 so it was cheaper, but still 1800 is crazy.

Wow. Is the Yen to Dollar relative value to blame?

I wonder if it even does anything, except maybe cool sounds... Here are my questions:
1. Does the oval air filter element have a greater surface area than the OEM flat panel?
2. Isn't the OEM airbox pulling air from the exact same place on top of the radiator? In other words, how is this CAI any "colder" than the OEM one?

This intake doesn't look that great. What we need is someone with access to a dyno to take off their stock intake and dyno open turbo to see if there is any potential gain to be had.

A) It always cost more to innovate than to copy one's hard work
B) I wonder if they think that because we own 335's, we'd be willing to fork over high amounts of money for anything aftermarket related, especially if they were the only current players in the market right now

lol +1 Methinks the restriction is in the turbo inlet tubes that wrap around the front and the back of the motor. Not in the air filter inlet/duct.

I agree with you on "A", but as far as "B" goes, GruppeM charges over 1700 for an intake for an s2k so they try to screw everyone across the board, not just 335 guys.
