shifting with a/c on
Does everybody else experience increased shifting difficulty when you run your car with the a/c on? The last few days we've had a heat wave in Chicago, usually I don't use my a/c unless it's over 90 and its been near a 100 lately. There is a night and day difference in how the car shifts when the a/c is on vs. off. What is the reasoning for this?

With AC on and the compressor engaged, there is additional drag on the engine. When you shift, that additional drag causes the rpms to drop faster and if don't make an adjustment for this, your shifts will not be as smooth. You must either shift faster so this additional drag is less noticeable or slightly increase your throttle input as you are shifting to compensate.

Pretty sure everyone experiences it. Its like customary now when its 100 degrees and I use the A/C to take the lag into account. The reason I try to never use A/C.
