Possible to extend range on remote??

I have a e93 and to operate the top up and down by the remote I have to be right next to the car.

I know the in europe you can be 30 feet or more away and do this.

Is this something that can be coded?

I know I could do smart top add-in. But not looking to do this at this time.

I think this can be done as I remember a local coder doing this last year. Can't remember the exact details about which line to alter. I have to ask him.

Do you have window tint? My range dropped in half after I got my car tinted with non-metallic tint.

Hmm I can look into this as well for you. If I find the line, I'll post it directly in this thread Hopefully others will do the same

no tint....yet.

Car is only 2 1/2 months old. I have CA...I don't think my batteries would be low.

Also, I think the euro e93 can control the top while moving. I hate when I am at a red light and I am 90% opened and the light turns green. I have to stay stopped to finish holding people up at the light.

Any ideas on that??

haha I've heard people claim that if you hold the remote to your chin (or under your jaw) and press the button on the remote, you can drastically increase the distance or reception.

+2 I've seen a tv program (don't remember which, Mythbuster, Top Gear?) proving that it works, they pointed the key against the temple, and it extended the range a lot,,,
But i agree, nothing i do in public so often, but i tried it and it seem to extend the range .

The chin trick completely works. I only do it if I forgot to lock the door running for a building in the rain or something, not all that practical, but useful nonetheless.

Would this apply to E90/E92 cars without CA as well? If so, hopefully someone posts what needs to be coded.
