California Army Nation Guard Wednesday Night Drags Winner

Yesterday on the 11th I took my 335i to Infineon's wednseday Night Drag. I ended up taking first place in the High School division. Does anyone here have any tips on how to launch in a mt? Next time I go I'm going to get the PROcede and move up one division so I can win some money.

What are you dialing in? Very hard to do bracket racing when you have a manual transmission.

Well during the trial runs on my second run i ran a 13.9. I could have hit lower thirteens; but they told me if I ran in the 13's again without a helmet I couldn't race anymore. I did not have a helmet so during the bracket race I dialed in at 14, would pull a couple car lengths, then brake at the end so that I wouldn't break out.

I saw in another thread that someone asked Shiv if local people could just bring in there cars to have the proceed installed instead of having it shipped. I wonder if he would let me do that?

I'm sure he'll will since it'll be good business.

Honestly though, if you're going continue drag racing get a helmet first!

If you want to save a few bucks more you can get an open face helmet but if you plan on doing track events then get a full face. I personally have a Bell Sport helmet.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have another question. When I won the race they gave me 12 one quart bottles of Kendall GT-1 synthetic blend motor oil. Does anyone have any idea how much it is worth ? The last time I got my oil change I asked BMW if I could put other types of oil in my car and they said that if I did it would void my warranty.

That's b.s., unless you're talking about non-synthetic or a synthetic blend like you received. Even in the BMW 335i Owner's Manual, it says that a suitable synthetic oil alternative (like Mobil 1) can be used. btw -- I currently have the Kendall FULL SYNTHETIC motor oil in my 335i, and it will stay there until I get my 1st "free" oil change via my BMW maintenance schedule. I changed the oil out after my break-in period.

I made my CA thow the oem SS pedals into my deal @ n/c , but I believe they list for ~ $150+install (~$300). Here's the "official" E92 Accessories brochure in this thread...
