If you had 70K to spend ...
What car would you buy? Here are the stipulations:
1) Can be used or new. Any make, model, or year. 2) Can be stock or performance modified. 3) Fastest 0-60 and 1/4 times possible. 4). Must also serve as daily driver Just a mental exercise but I will consider all suggestions My first thought (from a fellow E90 Poster) is buy a pre-owned M3 with competition pkg than have supercharger installed. Have fun.

It would probably have to be a 535i GT xDrive. I know a lot of people find the look of them a little less appealing than other cars, but I think it's absolutely gorgeous and like the idea of driving something a little more rare than your average 3- or 5-series.

Used Nissan GTR, then modify it. You should be able to pick up one with less than 10,000mi for around 60k, and have 10k for mods. That'll take you into the low 11sec range in the 1/4 and the low 3sec range for 0-60, all while having a true sports car that can still go around corners too.

Edit - Second Choice would be '07 Z06 with headers and proper exhaust. Another easy 10 second car.

2012 Roush Stage 3 Mustang, Black on Black...thing is an absolute barn burner..aside from being gorgeous. Most are going for high 50k's..wouldn't take much to make it a high 10 second car. Already has 540 supercharged HP.

I've always wanted a 1994 Porsche 911... I'd get that, save some cash, and see how many dead hookers I can fit inside it...

if you are looking just for straight line speed, you can get the cheapest Honda Civic or Subaru STI WRX you can find in the market, and mod the thing to hell.

$70k to spend and you're thinking of spending it on a car?
Sad but I guess if your in a position to blow that kind of stupid money on a motor vehicle, then good for you. Given the unpredictability of this economy and job market, you might best be served using that money more wisely assuming that what ever your income source is now will be short lived..... But who am I to preach life lessons to you..... On a car forum, no less....... You're the one supposedly with $70k to spend, not me, right? |

For 70K? I'd probably get a gently used, late model Porsche 911S. Like this one (except with a manual transmission):

As new of a 911 turbo you can get for $70K, probably about an 07 with decent miles I would think. Or if you are into Japanese cars such as myself, GTR!
