Body flex, thump/crack/pop noise

I'm going to take the car in tomorrow, but I've noticed this issue more and more as the temp has started to rise. Basically when the car is under 5mph, and I reverse or start to drive sometimes I hear a thunk/crack/pop noise from beneath the car, can't tell if it is coming from front or rear. It is kind of hard to describe, but it seems like a better description to say during body flex. I have a buddy who is pretty heavy at about 350 pounds, and when he is in the car it is extremely noticeable and happens almost always, but with just me in the car I hear it occasionally. It is all under 5mph, and doesn't matter if windows are up or down... anyone else have this issue or heard of it? Also do you think any type of structural issue would be covered by CPO? Car has never been tracked, and suspension has never been touched\

edit. a creaking sound may describe the issue also, except it is just one sound that is not drawn out, it's like the body flexes and you hear a quick "thunk".. happens more often on hills etc doesn't matter if car is cold or just back from a 100mi trip

The knock is normal when you put it cold into reverse.

As for body flex.... its pretty stiff. Get smaller friends.

Sounds like you might be experiencing this:

If that's the case, I'm pretty sure it's normal for out auto-adjusting calipers.

unless you are noticing a popping sound in the A pillar? I used to notice this when it was hot out in my 328. I haven't noticed it in my "new" car though. Sounded like something in the frame was flexing when I would turn. Seemed to subside after a bit driving. I knew it would not reproduce on demand so I never complained.

Agreed. My car has this same problem and I have visited the dealer multiple times because of it. Apparently, this clunk is "normal"...
