335i To Be or 135i To Be!

More or less I have been considering between an 08-09 135i or a 07-08 335i.

I cant make up my mind between the two. I like the openness and looks of the 335i but also love the quickness factor of the 135i but not as much as looks.

So which do you have, want to have, or had...and why do you like it.

Don't buy a car that you don't like the look of. It's like marrying a butterface. It'll start to eat at you after a while.

I have a 135i and I love it but I have to admit that I really like the looks of the E92 335i. I got mine for a great deal, I couldnt find a 6mt 335i anywhere near me for less than 4k more. I love the performance of my car and I dont mind the squished back seats. If there is a time in my life to be impractical its now haha. Either way you go you will love it

335....135 is too...dare I say "civicish" looking.

Throw a tune in the 335 and your set. IMO 128/135 look feminine. (not trying to start a war)

In addition to everything already said, the 135 has one year left before new model hits. How do you like being in the old model in only a year after you buy the car? The car is ugly as sin, but it drives like you would never believe in a good way, and gives up nothing but interior space to the 335i. You can't go wrong with either as long as you are ok with the space and looks.

135 is negligibly quicker.... its about a 180 lb difference. Give or take 20-30.

135i all the way!!! I really don't understand why people hate on the looks. I think it looks really sick. I own a 135i and Ive driven a few 335s, the 135i is a lot more fun to drive.

Yes but that wont be to 2014 for the E9X Coupe and Convertibles. The 135 new model will be here before the 335 Sedan new model too. Doesn't really matter if you don't care, don't have to always have the newest thing on the road, but the 3 series being BMW's main bread and butter model and all; changes are evolutionary compared to the 135 so when the new 135 is out, the old one looks a lot more dated than the old model 3 series IMO.

Fair enough but if you have seen the rendering of the new coupe you would want to get the current 1 series

You mean the new 3 series coupe is ugly? Or do you mean the new 135 is uglier than the current one? I hate how BMW sometimes takes a car makes it just heinous calls it progress. Like the 7 series and 5 series did a few years ago. Drink to progress.

Can't go wrong with either one of them. Just modd'em properly then no matter if its 335i or 135i, you will love it But I did hear 135i is quicker than 335i if that's what you are looking for....plus! I think some modded 135i looks better than some modded 335i. For example...

The 1-series is ugly, there's no doubt about it.

But if you want the quickest possible setup, 135 is a better starting base. If you are not married, don't have any kids, etc. and want to tune the car to extremes, the 135i is more suitable in my opinion.

1 series looks hideous.

E92 = sexiest car in BMWs current lineup

135i FTW, better handling, less weight, better brakes.
Also, u can "upgrade" to restyling simply changing 4 lights and you have like-new car...

I chose the 335i because I like the looks far better than the 135i and because I need to have grown ups on the back seats every now and then, and that's absolutely no good in the 135i. Also the trunk space is too limited in the 135i when my wife and I takes of for the beach house or a road trip around Europe, which we do 2-3 times a year.

I've tried both, on several occasions. In many ways I think the 135i is more fun to drive around a track or just around the streets in the city really. The steering is even more precise and it feels much more nimble. On the Autobahn, and other freeways, I much prefer the longer wheelbase on the 335i, it's much more steady in high speed corners.

However, either is a fantastic ride, and with a tune I think I have a near perfect car
