New car discounts

Uh, colleague wants to buy E90 330d or maybe 335d.

What's a good discount percentage to aim for?

At least 12-14% all in.

You could always just go with Broadspeed to make it simple...

What ever discount you achieve now will still seem like small fry in a few months when all the contributions and freebies are bolted on.

I remember the E46 run outs had massive deals at the end.

Expect to see things like free Nav prof, USB, smart phone integration, internet, leather, Sport upgrade, hifi upgrade and then dealer contributions combined with BMW finance contributions taking another £5-7000 off along with low (sub 6% apr) finance rates.

I reckon before the new one launches in the autumn we will see around £10,000 off list with options and discounts.

agree, my brother in law back in 2004/05 brought a spec'd 330cd. Final price was pretty good compared to list price having accounted for the options, and also had bolt on like 5 year service/ MOT pack etc.

I have already encountered £7K or so deposit contributions on an E92 320d M Sport.

Really? That is pretty good and quite early for the coupe.
Now combine that with the 'Final Edition' or whatever they call it with Media Pro, internet and leather and you have over £10,000 worth of discount.

Great for the buyer, not so good for the guy who just spent £40,000 on it though!

There's never going to be £10k of them that's a bit of an overstatement dont you think Gizze? On the e92 they have just released a sport edition (i think) thats got 313 wheels, usb, BT, Business NAv, M3 spoiler about £3k worth of extras. Then add in 10%-12% discount that would make a saving of about £7k. Though they have been running BMW support the previous 2 quarters on the e92's of £2k for 4cyl and £2.5k on 6cyl, not the free pro nav.. well you can have it, or a budget of £2-2.5k for any extras doesnt need to be proNav depends how honest your dealer is whether he tells punters.. but knowing most they wont!
Peter they were practically giving you that 320 at cost price, its obvious they just wanted the thing out the door.. maybe they needed that last sale for the big bonuses to kick in.

It was interesting, as it was not a car that had actually arrived in the dealership, it's arrival was imminent, but was being pushed as an 'offer' on their website - Cooper Malton. It was the end of the quarter but they were flexible so long as it was registered before 31 Aug. The dealer 'desposit contribution'/ finance support was £7K and the finance rate was 9% APR I think. When I asked Blackpool BMW to match it, they happily would have done so on a similar but slightly higher spec 320d E92. I was tempted but it was pushing my budget too much, so the 120d M Sport won the day.
