Bumpstops

Long story short:

When lowered on H&R Sports and using aftermarket shocks (Koni Yellows, Bilstien, etc) are you supposed to leave the bumpstops as is, or cut them?

The morons at my shop are not sure what to do.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea, but the guy said something about the car being lowered and it allows more suspension travel. The work is being done monday so I need to know what to tell them. Since Ive not read on this board about anyone trimming the bumpstops, my hunch is to tell them to leave them as they are.

I wish Creative Auto wasnt filming some damn TV show and was open for business

I wouldn't cut them. Not for your set up.

If you were on SLAMMED kw's, then maybe, but not as you are.

It's all up to the directions that came in the box. H&R used to have you trim bumpstops ... bumpstop is just another spring and if the primary spring can handle it, no reason to have the secondary spring restricting movement of the primary.

Again, it's all down to the application and the instructions in the box. If the box doesn't mention it, then no trim.

Hmmm, I have no idea about the instructions as I dont have the box.

Thanks Matt for your input also.

For real - sorry to threadjack, but I've given up on asking about products not received from them. I feel like since I'm not spending thousands of dollars on stuff, I don't matter any more to them.

Back on the subject though, as Matt said, you're probably not low enough to consider cutting them.

Well, the issue for me was that I felt somethig had been wrong with my car since I got the Koni FSD installed. It was sitting too low and had some strange behaviors as well. And since Creative was closed I couldnt contact them and I was getting pretty concerned.

Well, I swapped out the FSD for Koni Yellow, it was a nice move. So far the car feels good and tight but it not killing my kidneys. I have the rears set at 3/4 turn and fronts still on 0. After only about 50 miles, Im very pleased.

So far Im very happy as well. I wish I had done this in the first place, this was costly mistake not listening to Koni as well as the wisdom of others here on the board.

According to the instructions I have with my H&R sports you only need to trim the bumpstops on the mercedes.
