Datatransmission to Interface Disturbed

I read with great intrigue the coding pages and thought I'd give it a go - and have become stuck so interested in your collective advice.

Basically I keep getting the 'IFH-0003 DATATRANSMISSION TO INTERFACE DISTURBED ERROR' when I try connect with this cable on a Win XP SP3 machine to my 2008 E90.

Here is what I have tried:
1. Installed the default driver (with correct settings), INPA 5.0.1 , EDIBIAS 6.4.3 and NCSEXPERT 3.0.8 that came with the cable. - No luck
2. Updated the driver to latest available on FDI website - No luck
3. Updated the daten files to V40 - No luck
4. Updated EDIBAS to 7.2.0 - No luck
5. Checked pins 7 & 8 - No luck
6. Tried updating the FDI chip as per instructions - No luck
7. Repeated all the above steps with xxxjecxxx's NCSExpert package - No luck

For good measure also tested on a Windows 7 laptop, and a 2007 E90.

I'm at a loss to find any solution and think it may be a faulty cable. Interested in thoughts?

Idk if you firgured this out yet or not but if you keep the hazards on, it will prevent modules from going to sleep/disturbing data transmission.

Haven't had any luck as yet. I tried on a different car and have concluded that the cable may be faulty.

Shall let you know how I go.

I had the same problem. Cable worked fine for the first 7 months and then all of a sudden got this error. Did everything that the op outlined and even used another laptop. Basically, I am now waiting for a replacement cable in the mail (on its way).

Crappy chinese cable. I had to buy a new one.

Did you try checking if your obd.ini has the right settings?
