Cherrybombs? Those are 'glasspack' style mufflers, correct? Idk about that... but you never know. These engines are amazing at high rpms, unfortunately that's when(to me) most axel backs sound like they really lose volume. This could possibly be a good medium between a 'quiet' sport muffler and a 'raspy' muffler delete.

short answer, I wouldnt do it. Use magnaflows and get the max flow and a good sound.

flowmasters are a chambered muffler = reduced flow from the baffles.

I swear I thought the exact same thing lol
But just to play devils advocate, the berk muffler delete is pretty common. And that's basically a way to spend $400 to 'cut' the mufflers off...

the gains from muffler mods seem so insignifigant so m primarily looking for a good sound. I have a 95 z71 with a built 383 with header back straights... so im deffinately the kinda guy who loves the raw sound of straights.. I know that a 383 with a rough cam idle is not even in the same ballpark as this smooth revvy little i6 so im lookin for something mean and raw, but yet still slightly tastefull.. Idm the ricey rasp but the sound needs to match the performance...

yea they are the longest glasspacks in the cherrybomb line, i had em on the pickup to get the fuzz of my back for a few weeks(multiple improper muffler citations). ive got 2 flowmasters that i had on for the same reason. Ive also got 2 thrush turbo resonators that have never been on anything... Jw if i can put some of my junk to use since ots just collecting dust anyways.

Why not? Go for it. Its just exhaust, worse case scenerio: it sounds bad and you just put the factory/N54 specific aftermarket parts in its place

im leanin more twards a muffler, secondary cats, resonator delete while keeping the stock dps for now and weldin the glasspacks in where the sec cats were. I dont know how much the placement of the glasspacks have to do with tone but ive heard the closer to the headers, the louder they are...

That's what I was thinking, just have to run exhaust pipe from the glasspacks to the rear of the car. You could put resonators in front of the glasspacks to cut down on rasp

I don't have any experience with cherrybombs but I just threw some flowmasters on my 335i 6AT. Sound is ten times deeper then stock. However, it drones like no other other from 1800-2600 rpm if I am not mistaken. Sounds great though in my opinion. What bugs me the most is the rattle coming from the back. I know there is a DIY to mitigate that problem. BTW I still have the stock dp's on there and secondary cats.
