Just delete it. No need to put one in place.

Garage List
My modified one still gets jerky 1-2 shifts occasionally. I probably just suck at driving haha. Any specific differences between different CDV brands? I got mine from BavX but don't know what they gave me actually.

Yea its not a complete cure all but i could def feel reduced jerkiness on the 1-2 w/ the modified CDV..Its the nature of the gear box and clutch engagement on this car..dont be afraid to man handle it..lol

You can also buy an OEM CDV and just pop out the orifice with an allen wrench. That is what the majority of vendors are doing and then marking up the price.

Part #13 ($8.27):

Not worth it for $20..u actually have to be careful if u drill it there is a way u can damage it..

http://www.zeckhausen.com/CDV.htm

The solution is to replace* the CDV with a modified valve which has had the interior parts carefully removed. We do not drill these valves. Drilling will damage the taper at both ends of the valve. The male tapered end seals against the female taper of the clutch slave cylinder. And the male hydraulic fitting seals against the CDV's tapered seat at the female end. It does not seal via the threads.

Drilling a CDV will cause it to leak and may also leave bits of metal behind, potentially damaging the delicate rubber seals in the clutch hydraulics. We have developed a technique for removing the interior valve and spring without damaging the tapered seat at the female end and without touching the taper on the male end. .

they are referring to the e46 style that needs to be drilled, the e9x ones are plastic, and the restriction plate is just held in place by spring force from 4 fingers on it, so it just pops out, blow it out with some air just for safe measure and its ready to go

^^^^ yep, do this, but use your CDV and no need to buy any parts. if something goes wrong and you ruin the CDV, then just delete the whole valve.

That will work, but I went with a second CDV so I could swap it quickly. I was ready to bleed the clutch but ended up not having to. I can also go 100% back to stock quickly if I have a problem.

By the way for others that haven't done this, one gentle tap with a hammer on the end of an allen wrench is all it takes.
