E92 M3 speedo: the numbers do something interesting
http://www.caranddriver.com/gallery....t=23&slide=off
The E92 M3 speedo starts in increments of 20 km/h and then halfway switches to increments of 30 km/h. So, it starts at 20km/h all the way to 120 km/h, and then when the needle is pointing directly up, it switches to 150 km/h all the way to 330 km/h. I have never seen anything like this and I was wondering if anyone else had. It is a fun little twist that BMW has put on the car, but I think it is also an easy way to get yourself a huge ticket if you aren't paying attention to the needle and all of the sudden you are going 10-20 mph faster than you thought. What does everyone else think? |

They first have to catch you.

Could the interior be anymore drab? How old and dated does the design on the seats look?

I'm really starting to think that if the recent shots we've seen of the interior are the actual production version, I may seriously consider an RS5 or a 997 for my next ride in 7/08. I had been quite excited about the M3, but the interior of the automobile is very important to me.

Must say; I do not like the speedo meter this way. Off course it`s the same in the M5 and M6; but 2 years ago I did not like it either. More brands are doing this, they are looking too much to each other; now BMW shouldn`t do that, they used to make the best interior, but indeed, this is a long time ago
It is weird IMO; It should be symetrical, like the speedometer off the E46 M3, witch IMO is as good as it gets. |
