Buying a Procede v5 need help...
Ok so before I get the usual bashing that goes with posts like these, let me make it clear. I HAVE searched but what I found still didn't clear some things up.
1. If I buy the Procede enthusiast version does this mean I can NOT control things like traction assist, initial boost, WG, etc.? 2. If the answer to the above question is NO then that obviously mean I can not access the Vishnu Command center correct? 3. Does the Procede Tuner Version require VIN unlock code if I am buying used? 4. Lastly, does the Procede Tuner Version require a laptop to adjust settings or can it ALL be done from the command center? (I have a mac) Thanks. And please no Jb lovers. Don't try to convert me. lol |

They are working on the new autotuning logic right now, no idea though when they will release it.

I was using the 5-10 beta maps for the last month, they are amazing maps if you want to use the DIC maps. If you have to have autotuning, use the 12-17 final release maps which I am currently using now.

Do I need to have the Procede installed to update firmware/maps and unlock VIN or can I hook it up directly to a PC. Reason I'm asking is because I have a Mac and I'll probably have to do the install at a friends house if that's the case.
Thanks. |

Procede needs power to operate. So you would have to power it from a 12V source.

Just got my Procede via UPS this week
Can not find a definete answer for my install questions: 1. I purchased a pre-owned V5 that's vin locked. Do I install then use the unlock code, then update firmware then maps? Could someone please give me the steps in order? It has the 101 firmware not the latest 106. 2. Do I really need to unhook the battery terminal for install? Has anyone NOT done this with any luck? 3. When uploading/updating the Procede do I need to have the doors and windows closed? Sorry for the noob questions. I am just so excited |

1) You need to pull your maps back to V4. I have a Procede module that was upgraded to V5 before sold. When I tried to install it, Procede wouldn't work until I downgraded to V4. It'll cost you $150+shipping to send it back to get it unlocked and reloaded with latest firmware. As to 2 and 3... Just unhook it in the back to be safe. I just took it out without disconnecting it and I'm kinda regreting it. I don't know if there'll be an issue. 3... just don't lock your keys in the car when you unhook the battery and you'll be fine :-p |

2 and 3 depend on each other.
You don't need to disconnect the battery, but make sure the doors are shut and the windows locked so that the ecu goes into sleep mode. You only need to do this when you disconnect the car's power to connect the procede (little green box - if we are talking about n54, have not experience on n55). Windows can be down. Disconnecting the battery is more of a failsafe against creating some codes for disconnecting the power when the car isn't sleeping, although it only takes about 1 minute to disconnect the battery.

I watched a JB3 install video and I am just going to let my ECU go into sleep mode by waiting 10 mins. Have to lock the doors and leave the hood open while waiting. Thanks everyone for helping. Can't wait! |
