BMW HPFP recall service and Procede question sanity check.

I have to take my car in this Wednesday for a HPFP recall. If they dealer needs to update my DME to the lastest code, will leaving the Procede on Map 0 pose a problem for them, or do I need to remove it? If I recall I can just set it to Map 0 and they can peform any work that is needed. Just need to make sure before my appt on Wednesday morning.

Thanks

Why not take it out? It's less than 20 minutes. If your warranty is out, you can leave it in.

Vent cowl will be removed. Then its just too easy for them to pop the ECU cover. I would not take the chance.

The car isn't under warranty, so I don't care if thet see the procede. This is recall work. I just need to make sure the procede won't interfere with the software update.

can they refuse recall work or say a hpfp replacement (120k mile extended warranty on that part) if you are out of the 4 year/50k mile warranty, leave your tune in, and they find it?

Since my car is out of warranty I just don't feel like worrying over what a dealer may or may not do. With all the bolt-on's I have it will be fairly obvious the car is not stock, so no reason to fret over the Procede IMO. It's not like they can claim I caused the factory recall because I had an aftermarket ECU in my car. Well they could say that, but what leg would they have to stand on?

Either way it's in for service tomorrow and I'll update on the results. Thanks for the replies.

Had the recalled HPFP replaced today with full mods and Procede on today. Thankfully I didn't hear any complaints from the service tech, although my "Service Advisor" jokingly said, "yeah they noticed that you modified a few things." I guess the FMIC, giant chrome catch can, snaking stainless UR intake, and oil cooler with briaded hoses gave it away. They did say they didn't bother changing the DME as mine was late enough to not be required as part of the service. So two thumbs up for that dealer!
