Anyone running aftermarket DP w/ Stock exhaust setup on e92?
Hi, did some seraching but could not seem to find a video of anyone running after market DP with stock exhaust setup, also im currently in afghanistan and the interent is wicked slow, so this would be a huge time saver, not to be that guy who doesn't use the coveted search function ha ha..im not sure if this setup is ideal but would love your guys' input..thanks!

I has various DPs with stock exhaust for two years on and off the car. It's loud only when you press on the gas. I hate the drone of aftermarket exhaust and it's very loud.

AR dps only and to me it just makes the exhaust sound louder. Its far from too loud, just more noted.

I am running stock exhaust with catless downpipes, and think it sounds perfect for my taste. I have no reason to go to an aftermarket set up, especially considering the other mods that can be bought for the price of an exhaust system. The exhaust sounds great when you get on it, but is mild and tame during the daily drive without any annoying drone.

I have an AA DP with stock exhaust and I absolutely love it. I also did the gold tee mod to add a bit more sound
You can hear the turbos spool now since they can breath better. It really sounds nice. You will like it a lot. I could post a vid for you, but with the slow connection not sure you will be able to see it. |

I've got catless dp and stock exhaust with secondary cats in, along with golf tee mod and it sounds just right.

I wish I had read that before! I had ar catless downpipes before and decided to remove the secondary cats too. It really sounds like shit now! I guess I'll have some resonators welded in.

Do it. Don't delete the secondary cats though unless you like the "catless fume smell" and rasp at high RPMs.

The intro sound clip is a cold start with CANflap on (golf tee mod).
I love the exhaust note and really don't need a catback. The added grunt from the catless downpipes is good enough for a daily driver.

The sound on cold start is louder for sure, then it warms up and is a smidge louder than stock. On WOT, the sound is louder than stock, but it sounds like POWER and it has much more power. The turbos spool faster too, and you can hear the turbos whine more. (I have a DCI too, so that could be it too). On highway, 6th gear - a slight increase in sound, but no drone. I love it, and I think you will too.
