forge DV question

Hello members;

I recently received my forge DV kit, I automatically switched the stock blue springs to the yellow ones.

The kit included 6 washers apart.

my question is, do I really need to use the washers that comes apart? or just install the yellow spring and that's it?

Thanks.

PS: I'm boosting 15 - 16 psi.

The washers/shims/spacers are obviously included so you can fine tune the DV's tension/pressure setting between any two springs provided. I think the concept of using the shims with the springs can be a very grey area.

The springs strongest to weakest are:

Red - Blue - Yellow - Green - Black.

Any car subjected to increasing boost pressure using a tune; should datalog the boost curve to see if you are hitting the tuners boost targets smoothly or if you have erratic and fluctuating boost.

If the valve is dumping or losing boost pressure before hitting it's target, you need to re-tune the valve’s performance characteristic by changing to a stiffer spring. If the stiffer spring is holding on to boost for too long or it fails to release pressure beyond its' expected boost target, you should try inserting the spacers to the weaker spring first.........to see if it resolves the boost target issues.

Note: Forge recommends the maximum use of only 2 spacers with any configuration.

Thank you for your input and information, I'll log and see what requires to change.

Beside that, what is your current setup?

Nice write up. I just installed my Forge DV, and wasn't 100% sure to which springs and shims to use -Thanks.
