E92 Spring Install - SEA ?
Can anyone recommend a shop in the Bellevue/Seattle area that can install H&R Sport Springs on my 328xi?
Only place I've found so far was Les Schwab, but they seem like more of a tire store. I just want to find someone who has done a few of these installs on an E92 and not have to practice on my car. Thanks.

Geez, how much should it cost to install springs anyway? The estimates I have gotten so far are between $600 and $700 including the 4 wheel alignment!
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind spending money, but I just hate wasting hit, and $700 sounds like a lot for something I use to do in my garage on little rice-rockets. Now, I am thinking of waiting for my 189 wheels so I can get everything done at the same time and get a little bang for my buck that way.

There used to be a couple of speed shops back in the e46 days that would do it for 200-300. Now you're pretty much stuck with the pro shops. Speedware, etc. And it'll run 4-5hrs at $90+/hr.
If you're spending that much, make sure you wait until you have matched shocks to go with the springs. Otherwise you're in for another install charge later. |

I ended up getting the work done at Auto Dynamix in Bellevue. Here are pics of my 328xi with H&R Sports and 12 mm rear spacers.

I'm not sure if Dave works on BMWs, but he had installed lots of suspension parts for my old Legacy GT at a very reasonable price. (Springs for less than $200). |

Cost came out to $468 and change for the spring install and 4 wheel alignment.

Not bad. Driving impressions? How is the ride quality? Also, what % tint do you have? Looks great.

Definitely a firmer ride. I probably should have went for shocks or Coilovers, but I just wanted to get it lowered. Going over some sections of I90 I feel like a highschool kid on a Honda Civic with cut springs from all the bouncing. Eibach springs weren't available for the XI so I ended up with H&R Sports. Incidently, these are the same springs as for the E91 XI model.
Point of note, this is my first real sports car and I just came off a 4x4 Explorer so my basis for comparison is not the best. Anyhow, I have a 30% Greystone tint and I am hoping to have some 189's and my painted reflectors on in the next few weeks and that'll be it for me. I haven't spent this much time and money on vehicle mod's in a long time.

Your 30% tint looks darker than my 20% at least in the pictures. Thanks for sharing your experience with the H&Rs. BTW, were those pictues taken in the Issaquah Highlands area?

The black leather makes it look darker than it really is. On another note, I decided to check my tire pressure and I was running around 38 psi all around
I dropped the pressure down to 32 for all four tires and the ride is much improved. I'm definitely going to make sure the pressure is correct when I get the 189's on. Those pics were taken in IH, right next to the dog park.

wow it seems like the isntalls are very expensive in teh seattle area. I was hoping to spend about 150-200 for install, is this not a possibility with Seattle shops? Any body else have any experience w/ installs?

Don't forget the alignment. That alone is like $175 or so, and recommended by most everyone that has had their car dropped. Not all shops have the proper equipment to do a BMW alignment.
