catless dp's and procede v4 with harness update

Ok, so I did a search and let me just say that I wish people were a little more direct and clear with their thread titles....geeezzz!

So, I just wanted to ask, since I couldn't find an answer, if any of you are running catless dp's with the latest procede V4 maps/firmware and the harness update that freed up those to pins?

I am planning on throwing in my Dp's finally, but I want to make sure I don't need to update to V5 or put my harness back to the original way first in order to keep from having issues due to the catless dp's.

Much thanks guys!
Jeff

I've just done this....... See my post http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...47#post9756947

Basically its annoying having the half engine light every 20 minutes along with the warning ding even though the Procede clears it a minute later........ Very crappy solution in my view. I'm changing my harness back and activating the o2 simulation.

Also after installing the DPs I'd recommend doing a Procede reset of all the mode 3 adaptions.

CANclear doesn't work with old ECU software versions (my case). So, I believe, if you go catless, you could get codes and half engine lights (depends on the software version).
This really sucks and that is why I can't upgrade to V5.

Why can't you go to v5? You can still run the o2 sim as long as you don't upgrade the harness.

I just moved the rear O2s to behind the rear cats. It really is the best solution, so you don't have to worry about the codes.

As far as I understood, it is recommended to upgrade the harness if you upgrade to V5. Am I correct?

I don't think shiv has been clear on that. I think he wants to see real cat values for some reason. I have catted DP's but they now trigger the code and dash light, but mine only needs a very minor simulation, like an 80-90 percent setting.

I have not upgraded to V5 yet, but if I do, I either do not plan on doing the harness update, or will do it, but run the BMS DP fix. Either of those would still impact the tune if Shiv is wanting to see an actual unmodified value as an input.

If i recall correctly, you're running v5. I'm asking about the v4 because that's what i'm running.

If your running the V4 then just leave the wiring alone for the 02...I used to run v4 and set the 02 modifers to 50-60 and it should suppress the ses code and also give you obd readiness for inspection

BTW I am using v5 now and I have not done the harnass update..I have canclear off and the modifier set to 60 and not one code and i have obd readiness

In my case, only 40-50% do the job.

is this true? I have a 11/06 build. Just recently installed a unlocked procede v4, was planning on doing FMIC and downpipes.

If you have the old software and you do not do the o2 modifier setting, you get the code and light, but it is cleared by the procede canclear in about a minute. There is no loss of power, or limp mode at any time. With the newer car software canclear will keep the light from ever coming up.

You can have canclear on and also set the o2 modifier to always avoid the light on older software.

What I do now is have canclear on and o2 modifier on (at 90%, if you are catless then you might need it set to 50%). When you want to try to pass emissions, you turn canclear off a few days in advance so the system gets readiness for testing and leave everything else alone.

This would drive me crazy. Half-engine lights every 10-30 minutes

I am disapointed Procede doesn't do the job with the older DME software versions

Jeff, AR catless DPs, with V5 - not 1 issue.

I seem to remember that you went back to V4 or something... that IMO is like wearing earth shoes and a tie-dye Tee-shirt in the 2000s...
