lci paddle swop help needed

changing my chrome paddles for the lci ones have them fitted but cant make them work. the chrome ones have 3 wires a ground and 1 for up and 1 for down on each side of the wheel, the lci ones have only 2 wires 1 ground and 1 for up on right side and a ground and 1 for down on the left side. problem is i dont know which wire on the lci plug is the ground on the chrome the ground is in the middle of the plug on the lci the middle of the plug has no wire.

won't a multimeter be your best friend to show which wire is ground???
