Any electronic expert here to help me to install my seats?
Hi Coloradans
I was lucky enough to get a pair of e92 sports seats -coral red baby, for my current e92 with non sports seats. My current non-sports seats have heat, but no lumbar or side bolster support. The seats I am going to swap in with have no heat, but have lumbar and side bolster. The little challenge with the installation is to tap power source to the new seats in order to make the lumbar and side bolster work. Any expert or know how in electronic or seats installation wanna help me out this weekend?! I am in the Denver area. |

Disconnect your battery before you do anything!
If you don't and you unplug the seat harness, the airbag warning code sets off and you have to see the dealer to reset it. So disconnect the battery anytime you mess with the seats and only reconnect it after the harness is reconnected. |

Lol, yea, did some research and noted that I need to unplug the baterry first. Bimmerthis, have u swap the seats before? Based on my research, seems I need to tap into a power wire to have the lumbar and side bolster to work.[u2b][/u2b]

I know for a fact that if you have premium package (which has the lumbar support) non sports seats, then the swap from non sport to sport will be plug and play. In my case, I don't have the premium package. Anyhow, I will give it a try this weekend and hope that I am wrong and it will be plug and play.

Pin #7 needs 12v+ and pin #13 needs ground. These are for the bolsters.
If you don't have these already in your body harness, you can jumper pin #4 to #7 and #8 to #13 on the seat. |

Mine were pretty much lie yours. Non-sport with heated. Now have the sport seats without heat but have the lumbar control. Everything works like it should.
I have to work Saturday so I can't meet up with you. What time are you done with ball? |

Swapped in the sports seats today. I unplugged the negative terminal of battery before I disconnected the seat harness. After the swap, everything works, except lumbar and side bolster. So, it seems I need to figure out the wiring and possibly rearranging the power pin in the body harness to match up the power pin in the seat harness. In addition, I got the DSC and 4x4 warning light after connecting the battery. This should be a quick fix. I heard that it's due to low battery level from disconnecting the battery. It can be resolved with a few minutes of drive to recharge the battery.
Thoughts and suggestions are welcome. |

4x4 error can be rectified by turning the car on, turn the wheel all the way to the left to lock, then turn all the way to the right to lock and then back to the left all the way to lock. It will reset after that.
