He's not being an ass or immature, he's right. I usually don't side with the search button posters, but if you look there's about 3 or 4 posts already on the e92 blackout grilles.

To sum it up, no one knows of anyone who makes these yet, so just follow the DIY if you can't wait, personally I think I might wait for the blackouts to come out from a dealer. Apparently dtm is supposed to be making CF ones, but its just a rumor... (I'm looking for them too, I guess are cars are too new to have a load of aftermarket parts developed)

just DIY if you can't wait for vendors to make them, its not too hard, just sand, prime and paint

I haven't seen any available for the E92 yet, but that's nothing that a little matte black spray paint and some elbow grease can't fix.

Don't DIY. Go look at how many guys tried it on their E90s and have them looking like crap after paint chips off.

if you think for a minute (not much longer, it might hurt)

the same 4 posts that you found are the ones that I read. and since those have been posted, there could be some on the market but it may not be something that attracted someone's attention enough to post about it. for example, someone without an E92 may have seen them listed and thought nothing of it, but seeing a thread from someone asking about them, the same person could simply reply, mentioning where they had seen it.

you kids are forum whores. you simply reply to a thread to boost your ego by disrespecting anyone for anything. a mature person's reaction would be to simply not reply anything and let those who have something positive to contribute go ahead and do so.

nothing I just said here implies that I wish to discuss this matter any further. if you reply, you prove my point.

now back on topic.

the DIY by sanding and painting is a direct attempt to failure because it would not remove the chrome finish from the plastic. so that settles it.

so if someone finds a manufacturer that releases it some day, please let us know. thanks

I'm in the same boat as you guys, something that I would really like to add to the look of my car (sparkling graphite) is blackout grills. I wish someone would release them fast, but for now if you want them the only option is the DIY...

Waldorf, if you sand it down and paint over it, why is it a failure? It'll make the look black and not chrome anymore, thats the goal right?

the chrome over plastic process is a bitch to remove but you have to remove it completely for anything else to stick correctly. i'm not sure if it's even possible to remove it all by sanding only.

So general consensus is to wait for them to be released as they eventually will chip =(
