Unhappy Help! - Weird paint discoloration/texture

So I was done washing my car and took it out at night when I noticed that parts of the front hood right in front of the BMW logo and a square inch of the passenger side panel had some funky discoloration, and also had a different texture to it. Almost like there was no wax/clearcoat on it. I'm not sure how to search for this w/ the search tool because I have no idea what this problem is.

Help! I've never seen this before on any car!

Have you tried a cleaning wax on the area? It almost looks like some type of adhesive residue, maybe your car had a clear bra at some point.

I haven't, because I wasn't sure what the problem was and did not want to misdiagnose it and potentially make it worse.

If that is the case with the residue, would the cleaning wax work?

Yes, a cleaning or polishing wax should remove it. It would be best if you did it by hand.

I would try some AIO, such as Klasse.

I had this on my alpine white 135i. I just noticed it in random spots. A lil polish by hand will get rid of it. Weird though

Has your car ever had paint work before? Did you buy your car used? Looks like overspray.

lol, that's what I said up^, That's for sure an over spray, either your parked somewhere and they were spraying something, or if you bought it used it can be painted by the previous owner, not trying to scare you though.
