F11 fuel figures so far
As the cost of petrol/diesel is becoming a major consideration for most of us I thought I'd post my results on my new f11 2.0d automatic so far.
The first 3000 miles I averaged just over 40mpg but the last two fill ups I have averaged 43.7 mpg giving me a range of 635 miles per tank full. The car has covered 4500 miles now. I would say that 60% of that driving is on country back roads, and the rest on A roads and motorway. Overall the car has been comfortable but I do find I miss the power of a 6 cyclinder engine but I don't think I'll change the vehicle for a very long time. It's just too cheap to run to consider any other vehicle. |

That does not matter when you have a new 997 at home. How many miles have you done in the Porsche and are you happy with it?

Impressive figures. I would quite like an F10 520d M Sport, very good looking car. It's just a tad expensive in my view though.

Decent mpg but yet again showing the ridiculous gap between real world and official figures which I think are about 55?
Wife's Prius averages about 52 which is great but when the official numbers are something like 74 it shows what a total farce they are. |

I too miss the 6cyl refinement and tbh hate the noise when you redlline it , but if you stay in the torque band it can shift along ok. So in actual fact it encourages relaxed drive The e61 is such a great allround car though....and as the F11 moves the game along again you much be happy.

Road noise is pretty awful. I know it's a sports car but anything over 45 minutes driving and it's starts to piss me off and I also find the sports seats don't provide enough support which again starts to cause problems on a long journey. It's not as fast as the gt3 in a straight line but with the PDK I can cover ground so much quicker. The problem is I'm opening another shop at the moment. I can to commute over an hour to two other centres and so I now find myself in the BMW rather than the Porsche due to the comfort. It seems I'm getting old! I'd like to go for the new M5 when it launched but I believe it's going to be around £75k in basic spec and I just can't see myself selling the 520d simply down to running costs ( I have 5 years free servicing on it). |

I totally agree with real life figures and official but my engine is still very tight and I think when it gets nearer 10000 miles on it I will be averaging 45mpg+ |

The new M5 ticks virtually all the boxes bar running costs and the initial purchase price I think I'll run the 520d for a good 3 years now and wait till the m5's start hitting low £50k level before jumping in. |

I avereged 45mpg in my old mans 525d m sport F10 from Glasgow - manchester. 450mile round trip, think it's on 520 miles now with just under quarter of a tank left (£120 to fill it)
lovely cars to drive!
