Part # 36116792598 for non-staggered. This rim weighs close to 35lbs each. Very heavy but looks good. IMO.

20% off the current list price. (It used to be $450 each a few months ago).... the discount given now has dropped a lot ...

Shipping to Australia may be expensive ??

May want to seriously consider going aftermarket for lighter wheels.

I had to give up my staggered 356 because of the sluggish acceleration, as well as the reluctant in changing direction when cornering. Went with F14 instead and boy! what a difference it made.

Although I miss the looks on the 356, I would much rather have a better driving experience.........

You're kidding right? You can actually feel the impact of the weight of the wheels on acceleration?

Fact or Fiction. Actually, it's true to some extent ...

Google "Unsprung wheel weight BMW" and there are many discussions that will explain the technical side of the subject matter.

Thanks! Very interesting. Did a quick scan of the topic.

The issue seems quite complicated and you might have to tune the suspension as well if you're choosing light weight wheels or removing unsprung weight.

That is very interesting. I can't see how you could possibly notice a difference in acceleration by reducing the wheel weight at 10 pounds per wheel. Maybe.........?

That's why the Forged wheels weigh in about 20-25 lbs per and at the same time, it is much stronger than your stock wheels.

here is another link better explains it.

Im considering the 356 wheels for my 550i MSport when it comes in. How does the driving change? do you have AT or MT?

Yes! It is that noticeable! 10lbs of unsprung weight is a lot!

I have 550i SAT, with IAS and DHP. Switched on day 1 to my old 356 wheels so didn't try with the standard 18" wheels. With the 356s, they look really good on the car, but the following prompted me to find alternate wheels.

1) Sluggish off the line. I am not talking about jerkiness. My 550i feels slower taking off from stop and accelerating vs a 535i (F10) that my uncle bought on my recommendation on stock wheels. My uncle also felt the same.

2) When cornering, the 550i feels very reluctant in changing directions. Granted, the 550i is inherantly front heavier vs the 535i, so may not be totally due to the wheels. However, I had similar feelings on cornering sluggishness in my old CLK until I switched wheels....

Switching to the lighter F14s rectified the above symptom immediately. And with 2 additional benefits:
1) Braking seems more responsive than with the 356s.
2) My gas mileage has improved from 24.5l/100km to 23.0l/km. And this is just looking at the average (I didn't bother reseting) so actual is most likely lower even.

The wheel shop guy told me a lighter set of wheels will improve the handling vs stock more than if I spend USD10K on other mods. And as of this moment, I tend to agree.

Thanks mlai, very interesting.
I used to think that only a dude like Lewis Hamilton could tell the difference...

I think you probably won't notice if you are on 18" OEM and moving to aftermarket 18" as the weight savings typically are 3-4lbs per wheels there. For instance, But on 20", weight savings are way bigger!

I would have thought the tyres being not runflat would be lighter than runflats so would be a similar weight to standard???

So mlai did you sell the 356 already ?

Thanks although the part number seems wrong.

I have good ship rates out of florida .. trust me the shipping cost is nothing compared to paying for them from a BMW dealer here

How is this part # wrong ? Wrong only if you go staggered at the rear, then a different part #.
