Ordered m sport 528i...options/pricing check

Hey all,

I'm a current e39 owner, but needed another car and just put in an order for an f10. Here's the build:

528i
Carbon Black
Cinnamon Brown leather/Anthracite wood
Prem Pack I
M Sport
Cold Weather Pack
Park Distance Control
Xenon Headlights
Navigation System
iPod and USB Adapter

MSRP is about $58k, and we ended up agreeing on a price around $51-$52k. Lease is for 36 months, 12k miles, and monthly payment came out to $695.

Two quick questions:
1. Pricing seems fair to me. What do you think?
2. Did I miss any obvious options? I equipped the Navi because of the rebate. Is bluetooth audio included on all models or is that another option?
3. I'm still debating on the 8-speed sport auto. Not sure if its a waste of money. The gear selector looks better, but I don't see myself using the paddle shifters. Does the sport auto change any other settings?

Other than that, I'm pretty happy. Can't wait till it gets here.

I suggest to get 8 speed auto. Although u don't use the paddle, the selector provides better steering feedback, faster shifting, more responsive throttle in sport.

No brainer for $500.

For such a price why not go with a 535 and have less msport pack. After you buy this car and if you see a 535i on the road crossing you will be like ahhhhh i would have got that 535i, damn it,
Just a thought and i would have felt the same thing

I was debating on looks (528 m-sport) vs speed (535 non m-sport) for some time. At the end of the day, the looks won for me. I've always had a soft spot for the m-sport.

After a little more thinking, I'm going to ask my dealer to add the 8-speed auto as well.

Trust me my friend, i have owned 12 cars in past eight years and all new ones, the craze for looks will fade over time, and i assure you after a year or two you will be like i wish i had ordered a 535i, i am not saying go for 550i, but for a 5 grand more you can get more powerful machine that you can cherish for a long time to come, my two cents, at the end of the day you are the boss of your decisions.

I was on the same boat. I finally picked regular sport 535i.

In term of looks:
msport 535i is the best, but I don't want to pay $6500 more for it.

For me regular sport 535i = msport 528i in term of look. 535i is better due to the 19" wheels and dual sided exhaust. Msport 528i looks good from the front, but the 18" wheels and the rear end (one-sided exhaust) do not look that good.

At the end, since 528i depreciates faster than 535i, I went with 535i.

True. Since I'm leasing, I dont have to worry about depreciation or whether I will still like the car in 2 or 3 years once the looks wear off. I also like that I was able to get the car in carbon black.

I also think i'm going to remove the cold weather package and get premium package II instead. It will increase the price marginally but I'll get an upgraded sound system and rear camera.

For leasing there's small difference in residual by 1%.

congrats Naveeds786. Nice choice. I am planning on a 528i over a 535i as well. I just don't want to deal with the fuel pump issue with the turbo engines. You will not regret it. do you mind PMing the dealer info. that looks like superb deal to me.

I will PM you as soon as I hit 5 posts

Also, I ultimately changed my order today. Dropped Cold Weather Package, Park Distance COntrol and the iPod USB adapter. Instead, I added Prem Pack II.

i was building the car out too last night and saw that the prem II made more sense than breaking it down. Also, i might go to the dealership to test out the hifi stereo. Wonder how it is compared to logic 7 of my previous e60.

Thanks, you got 5 posts. :-)
