335i n54 - a noise to worry about..???
I have done a search and couldn't find the answer i needed.
Twice in the past couple of weeks, after driving for a while and engine being warm, I have noticed a tapping sound when driving slowly without throttle. I have had no power issues or lights on dash etc, and it has only done it twice (unless i don't hear it if windows up), and it goes when I accelerate. Still under AUC warranty, but thinking not going to be able to show them what it is wrong..? Should I be worried, hpfp fault, turbo's, coils...??? Cheers, wza |

you might as well bring it into the dealer because what your describing may have left a fault code in the car even if it doesnt show a warning light, and they'll be able to scan the car for codes. good luck

a few people have had this sound...apparently it is similar to the valve ticking in the n52 engines yet it has been said that the n54 has no hydraulic lifters....
i think i read on the forum somewhere however taht someone did have some work done to solve the issue...the search tool is your friend. |
