Speaking of the new shifter...saw this 530 at a dealership last weekend as part of the E93 launch. Enjoy.

The new shifter is actuatlly supposed to be fully electronic like the turn signals in our cars.
What is more interesting about the new shifter is what it connects to. There is a new automatic transmission in there that shifts faster than before and saves about 3% fuel economy. I believe this is accomplished through use of a special clutch pack within the torque converter that actually allows the automatic transmission to basically be solid-mounted to the engine once the car is on the move. |
