i know its not a E90 i have 07 5 series with idrive,
thing is yesterday a warning light came up in the middle of the dash where the date and time is its a ornage light with a clock on my heads up display is saying set date and time,but my idrive wont let me in just says BMW cant even listen to the radio, any ideas what could be wrong, tryed all the stalks buttons no good

Remove power by disconnecting the car battery.
Wait a while - half hour for me.
Reconnect and set local and clock etc.

Worked for me.

no good pulled the earth off for a hour, then tryed again no good even the mpg resets to zero too,

right phoned my local dealer there going to hook it up to there computer next thursday, i hate having no music too lol,

been in the bmw dealers today tryed in reprogramme it came back the same, looks like a big part has gone wrong and a air bag senor too, both parts cost £1000 to replace plus labour, i am gutted really they are plugging in it overnight see if that works,

my father never done it, i rung bmw warrenty up they would warrenty on it but ill have to wait 1 and half months to claim plus the date of the crash would be on the ecu so its a no no in both areas

Jesus, i'd get an Indy to look at it for a second opinion.

right dealers just rung back its the cc bus failed going to be £1000 fitted to put right, may send bmw a email seeing if i can get anything back

just picked up the car 150 pound lighter still the same, he is sending me the paperwork for the job to replace the chip sounds like its the main one, its all computer work really, quite pissed as i have no radio, i think ill write a letter to bmw uk this shouldnt go work on a 07 30k miles 47k car, also my father had the same problem back in aug 07

car is booked in tomorrow to have a new cc unit fitted, costs about 1000 to fit bmw have offerd 70% towards it,which i thinks a fair shout, does any know what a cc unit is lol

It's a CCC unit and it's the main Car Communications Computer, so not exactly a small part.

i was going to write a letter but bmw service rep said he would try first,so i did not need to bother, all picked up today and i haveeeeeeeeee a radio lol
