Paid for and ready to do a PCD on 3/29!

Well, I went into the dealership on Sat, traded in my 84 318i coupe, and signed all the papers for E90. All in all, it took all of 30-45 minutes. Now, I wait for my flight to SC on Wed afternoon, and the PCD on Thursday.

Since I first placed my order back in January, I have made visiting these forums a daily event, and it made time go by faster, but at the same time slower because I want to enjoy my car as much as all of you who already have your cars.

Thank you for helping me pass the time!!!

Next week, I will be driving it instead of just thinking about it!

When I come back, I will begin the search for mods that I want to do. I will be mild with them. Tinting the first week, perhaps backlines and angel eye upgrade soon afterward??? I do not know.... I have to see some other peoples cars in person before I start doing stuff to it.

one suggestion: if you have any mods that you are 100% certain of doing, order them now. i waited to get mine and its annoying having to order them one by one and have them come at different times. wish i had them all ready to go when i came back from my PCD!

the pcd is phenomenal though, make sure and ask donny eisley for a hot lap in the M5. what a monster that car is.

Do any of you know for certain that the plant will be open for a tour? Ever since I got the letter saying that the plant may be closed, I was wondering if it was going to be open when I was going to be there.

Anyone?

The plant was open when I did my PCD 3/6. I hope it is, as it is amazing to see the X5 & Z4 being made & tested

. Also, you are treated somewhat like a celebrity because you just picked up your car that day. The tour guide made frequent mention of that fact

i did a PCD on march 8th and the factory tour was included so im sure it will be for the OP. and yeah, picking up a car on that day is pretty cool

Anyone else do a PCD later then that, or know for sure that the plant is open???

I think the e-mail you saw was a form letter from last year when they had closed the plant due to the X5 release. Maybe they never updated their notices.

Never thought of that. I would think that their Mar/Com group would have caught that by now. HMMmm... I hope that is the case.

I just checked my form letter dated 2/15, and it also said the plant was closed. So, I agree that the letter appears to be dated.

The plant tour is and should continue to be available until around May or June (it will definetely close to the public again for possibly the remainder of the year). We are not the same company (we are BMW NA and they are BMW Manufacturing), so they can tell us anytime the the tours won't be available if they run out of hidding room for the new X6.

Other than holidays, they haven't done that to us this year. So I think you will be able to see the plant if your delivery is before May or June.

While getting the car is definitly going to be the highlight of the day, I was really hoping that I had the chance to experience the tour as well. I am glad to hear I will!
