XD 600/6 recommended gain setting
Has anyone used the JL recommended settings for setting gains on the XD600/6 out of an MS-8? The factory recommendation is to pipe a sine wave in with no speakers and measure the output voltage. Has anyone done that?

With the MS-8 you don't do that. Set all the gains at 2V and let the MS-8 do the remaining adjustments for you.

Ok. I presume 2v is straight up? (range is 0.5 to 5v IIRC). I just wanted to ensure the JL was giving me as much power as cleanly possible before running MS-8 calibration.

Gains are linear for the most part so 12 o'clock would be (5 - 0.5)/2 = 2.25V.
So if the gains are set a 12 o'clock (or 11:45) it would be ideal since the amp will put out maximum power with a 2V input, which is what the MS-8's output is.
