2006 BMW E90 320d SE - One of the best modifications I have ever done !!! :)
Hello everyone,
Yesturday I visited Nige at BSC Automotive in St Helens (30 miles from Manchester). Great service and superb quality of parts. My standard exhaust (back box) was cut in one place and the new exhaust was fitted with exhaust clamp. The fitting took just over an hour and the result is fantastic. The tailpipes curve with the bumper and fit perfectly. The sound of the exhaust changed slightly, but it is hard to notice. I got a life-time warranty for the exhaust, but there is nothing to go wrong with it. To be honest with you I paid 200 pounds including fitting and I think this is great price. I was not sure about welding just tailpipe on to my standard back box, because sometimes an effect might be crap costing you 100 pounds. There is one exhaust left in St Helens garage and you can take a look at it on eBay here : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-320d-E90-P...item35b1a964a5 Here is a YouTube account of the company with some nice videos : http://www.youtube.com/user/bcsautomotive#p/u Here are some pictures of the exhaust on my car. To see more pictures of all modifications done, please see my profile. Thanks for looking. I hope you like it. Best regards, Mat

I have just had a quote for replacing the oval exhaust tip with a twin pipe set up on my 320d e93 58 reg which came to £80. I checked with L.V. ins. co. and they required a further £67 increase because it was an exhaust mod. Explanations that it did not increase performance fell on deaf ears. Needless to say I will be shopping around for a new ins. co. at my next renewal time

LV (Liverpool Victoria) used to be the insurer for modded cars. They really couldn't give a toss at one point. I think everyone with a tweaked Golf/Octavia/Leon/A3 went with them. Unfortunately it was down to sheer ignorance. They were the same with their household policies and one of their sales guys once told me he thought they insured every thatched cottage in the country!
