Jerky acceleration

Noticed on my Si that when crawling through traffic say in 2nd, if i let off the loud pedal suddenly its a bit jerky. This is my 1st bmw so was wondering if it was normal??

Yes.
Normally a function of being RWD and not a BMW per se.
Lots of mass in the long prop shaft and rear axle compared to a FWD setup.
