****Need advice on xi lowering kit***

Just bought a 2011 3 series x drive sedan.

Looking to lower the car....Any suggestions out there on a reliable spring? (No Coilovers)

Eibachs?

Thanks

Keep it stock. My eibachs r rubbing in rear n it doesn't really fix that front gap. Maybe if it was a 1.3 in drop instead of 1in I would recommend it

God Damn iPhone

Anyways what I was saying earlier is I went with HnR Sports Struts with Bilstein B8 Sports struts. Love the stiffer ride right now over the stock. If you want the best go with AST 4100s.

My main goal is to just close the gap for cosmetics, not trying to do anything crazy. Here are the wheel/tire setup I have.

19x8.5/10 Linea Corse Dyna - Polished (5x120/e30F,e37R)
235.35.19 front / 265.30.19 rear

Wouldn't eibachs work well?

Also @Chrisred 1) what are your tire specs in the back? 2) would 3 tenths of an inch really make that big of a difference? I was told 1.3 front and 1 in the back.

The H&R Sport drop is 1.3" front and 1.2" rear approximately regardless of whether or not they are the xi or i springs.

And OP, do not just buy springs, trust me.

235 19's front n 265 19's rear. It rubs even on stock springs when car bounces on big bumps on highway. Now even worst with springs.

I agree why not just buy springs alone? I'm trying to minimize my cost.

If you want to have an incredibly bouncy and uncomposed ride, especially during highway driving, go with springs on stock shocks. I started with H&R springs on stock shocks and couldn't stand the ride anymore. I just added Bilstein sport shocks and the car is much more composed and the ride is smoother.

Ah, ok. Would the shocks/struts wear out faster going with aftermarket springs?

Same issue here. I had eibachs on my coupe and my brother had H&Rs on his sedan, both with stock shocks the ride was bouncy. Out of the two the H&R's were a little stiffer but still bouncy. We both went with bilsteins set up with H&R's. If I had to do it again I would stay stock or go with the KW v3s.

MassBimmer is an xi suspension guru - I've literally read through a ton of his posts. That's why I've decided to go with H&R + Bilstein combo!

I have an '09 335x drive sedan with a new installation of Eibach / Bilstein sports. Wheels are BBS LM's, et30 front / rear 18 x 8.5 and 18' x 10". Tire in the rear are 255/35 and I"m going wider to get rid of the strethced look. I still have my stock suspension parts in the trunk and I had 4 of us the other day in the car...it rubbed ever so slightly in the back, seriously no big deal as how the car drives has simply been transformed. Love this car now, the stock suspension was a joke.

^ Nice. I just ordered the Bilstein sports and apparently they're on backorder until June. Bummer, but can't wait to put them on!

i am thinking to get rid of my car in about 1-2 year with max 20k miles more, so i think just change the spring to BnG and the stock shock won't wore out before i sell the car?

btw BnG spring are backorder everywhere, just order from amazon for $190 but estimated ship at the end of the month.

Not substantially. H&R Sport springs are approx. 20% stiffer than stock springs so it's reasonable to believe that they may shorten the life of stock shocks by the same amount. Considering most shocks will last 100k miles, the life of stock shocks shouldn't be that drastically reduced.
