Where do you guys go get your AT fluid flushed/changed?
I have 70k miles on my car, and I think its about time I get one.
I don't feel like going to get this done at Jiffy Lube, I was going to ask maybe local Firestone shop that I always take my car to. Any suggestions? Any local shop with reputation should be fine, right?

you should read up on the fluid you need, it has to be the exact fluid you removed, and I would find a good indy bmw shop not firestone.

I DIY http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...y+transmission
But if you don't DIY THEN DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT JIFFY LUBE OR FIRESTONE. They will most likely just drain and refill. The problem is that there is a 2 step process to refill. If they just drain and refill your transmission will already be low on oil! In order to find a reputable INDY, you should post in the regional area on this forum. Good luck and keep us updated.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

I never have changed auto trans fluid and never will. Never had a problem even on my cars that have had almost 200k. I have seen more trans replacements that have had a flush.

50/50 city/highway for my daily drivers from ambiant temps of 20 in winter to 90 in the summer. My toys that get driven a lot harder like my 335 will get a manual trans fluid and diff fluid change at about 3 years, but the car will only have about 10 miles on it. I will keep the X5 till about 50k miles and the only drivetrain fluid I will change on it will be the transfer case.
