Are Eibachs still the preferred springs...??

I'm a bit impulsive and without any great thought just bought eibach's. However, from doing searches here I found mixed reviews.

Is it true that eibach's don't lower the rear?' I know with msport suspension that the car is lowered 10(r) and 15mm (f) but looking at my rears currently they sit pretty snug.

Cheers

Tiko

I think the Eibach Pro kit gives you approx 15mm on the rear and 20mm on the front (M Sport) from memory.

The H&R's are more aggressive in the drop and are too much on the roads here in Beirut , and I do speak from experience!

Thanks...so good choice then? Though I see you've gone down the coilover route.

If I was just doing springs I'd now go Eibach after experiencing the H&R's, which as I mentioned are too low for the UK roads, and quite harsh.

Personally I'd change both - springs and shocks, I believe the Koni's are a good match with the Eibach's, although I'm not sure which one (Koni's).

Someone will be along soon to let you know though

Koni Yellow adjustables with Eibach pro springs are a nice combo - I wouldn't recommend FSDs with lowering springs.

I was hoping not having to spend on new shockers just yet. As it's likely I'll only be keeping the car for year max. Would the OEM shocks be suffice for now?

Stock shocks would be OK - but compromised. Put the springs on and see what you think.

Thank you gents...

Will try springs with std shocks first. Just out of curiosity, can you recommend someone for koni's if I end up buying/needing them.

Cheers

These guys are the UK importers for Koni - http://www.camberleyautofactors.com/home/index.php. I don't know whether you can buy directly from them though. I used POTN who have provided a decent service and price.

i think if you wanted to go any lower you would deff need to change the shocks. but since the eibach's are more conservative you should probably be ok for a year with just them and no aftermarket shocks.

I know dozens, and know of probably hundreds of people who run Eibach Pro-Kit springs with standard dampers, and I've never heard of a related problem.

Obviously, ideally you would change the dampers to something more suited to the shorter spring, but don't get yourself in a twist about it. It will be fine

I got Eibachs on standard springs with 19" 225's. The ride is pretty good, until you hit a big pothole! Definitely worth doing though, car feels planted and definitely more comfortable than I expected.

I fitted Eibach pro kit springs with Bilstein B6's - spoke to the tech director at Eibach UK first and he turned out to know what he was talking about - they are an almost perfect match - guess what - they are developed together and may appear in the same box later this year- haven't turned it into a boneshaker either -

I have the revalved (by Hartge) Bilsteins and the Eibach coils.
Aparently they ship with these and Hartge just plonk one of thier lables over the part number

I like them -hard but corners like a much smaller, nimbler car now.
(H&R bars too here)
