in ny the front two windows need to let 70% of light through. and the rear two also need to let 70% through. if you look at any SUV with three rows of windows and not two, the front windows are light and the second two rows of windows are much darker. is there a different law if you have three rows of windows vs two?

Probably. The rear window has no restriction. You can paint it black.

no im not talking about the 3rd row window. on SUV's the second row of windows is dark.

Its like that for most SUVs from the factory. They're probably aloud to do it b/c of the extra windows.

i know they come like that from the factory thats my point. do they have a different law? NY says nothing about having 3 rows of windows in there tint law. it says

NO windshield tint
70% light must go through front two windows
70% light must go through the rear two windows
rear windshield can have any tint


what im saying is SUV's seem to come from the factory having the back seats tinted as well as the 3rd row. so how come SUV's have there second windows darker then the front from the factory but coupes and sedans have light rear windows from the factory.
