F*(# NY ROADS!!!!!!!!!

Hit a pothole the size of a beach ball at 65mph on my way to JFK airport. It instantly blew out my front RFT like if it was a marsh mellow, I Managed to get it to the airport 2 miles away.

Dropped it off to the dealer and the damage done is..

Front tire sidewall blowout
Front rim cracked
Rear wheel cracked
front control arm snapped
front strut bent 90 degrees
rear strut cracked

Iam glad to see the city is putting its tax dollars at work.

That really sucks man. I'm not sure how it is in NY, but in Jersey I'm filing 5 claims with NJ Department of Transportation because of 5 blown tires and a bent rim. See if NY can do something for you.

Eh, I feel your pain. Been there already.

Blew out a tire on an on-ramp at like 40 mph. Pathetic.

And THAT my friend is why I do 40-50MPH in the right lane and leave plenty of space between me and the car in front of me so I could SEE potential danger ahead... I only go fast if I know the highway very well.

Sucks that happened but if your wheels aren't insured I don't know if the DOT will even care

To be honest i have no idea, I let my navi take me to where i was, I do know i was only 2 miles from the airport. JUST STAY OUT OF THE MIDDLE LANE!.

The hole was so deep i dont even think my tire hit the bottom of it. My phone flew from my lap and ended up in the backseat!!, And i hit my head in the roof....Very,very severe pothole.

As soon as i hit it 4 other people pulled over with blowouts from the same shit!.

I do have wheel and tire insurance but i need to pay for the struts etc. out of pocket.

Do you have full coverage insurance? They can cover this under collision.

I'm with you on this one... I take it easy now. Everyone in NY wants to drive fast like they have someplace crazy important to go. I just take it easy until I know the road I am on. Even in those cases I am cautious because they are tearing up new roads everyday down here.

I can drive the FDR blind!!!!
