2011 X Drive
Is anyone going to have springs or coilovers for the F10 X drive vehicles yet. I called H&R and they stated that there are no start dates of production on X Drive Springs......
What to do... Thanks |

Nothing for X drive. All those blogs that people have changed theirs are RWD. I have asked my shop to see KW makes anything yet for the X drive and he is still waiting for response.
I think a few bloggers may have tried already but not sure the long term wear on their suspension system & tires. Some online vendors may even have suggested F10 RWD springs like H&R and RD should fit the x drive without any problem. Therefore, be careful if you must choose those springs. My 2 cents. |

RD Sport makes a lowering spring for the 535xi with and without adaptive drive. They're about double the price of H&Rs or Eibachs. Talk to Joe @Trinity Autosport.

Update on KW V3 coilovers - My shop guy called the tech rep in Germany and found out they will start production for the part for X drive model late summer 2011 to early Fall and should be ready for distribution in the late Fall. That's the best time timetable given as of now.

I usally order all my H&R springs from turner. There usually accurate with BMW aftermarket fitment/parts. If u put 550i Xdrive in the ''Does this fit my BMW'' it says it YES |

My shop guy says H&R does NOT have spring available yet for the xdrive. Therefore, if you must .... you can definitely try to put these on and see for yourself. Whether they are the proper fitment, nobody knows.

You need to be careful when looking at online options on websites, or ebay because a lot of the time they just list it but dont specify the X-Drive models. I know H&R is in the process of getting these out!

Guys,
I have been running the H&R springs on my 535xi for a couple of months they are perfect. The spring for the 535i and 550i are the same, that’s why the 550i sits way lower in the front (extra weight of the engine) IMHO the 550i is a hair to low in the front and the 535i is a hair to high, the 535xi total weight is basically in between the 535i and 550i which gives it the perfect drop with the perfect rake. Yes my car is a 535xi and Yes I'm running the H&R 535i springs and No I have not had any problems what so ever. |

WOW I have been waiting for this day! Do you have M Sport and Dynamic Driving control?
I believe that is where the problem may lie. I contacted H&R Direct and the Tech told me the 535i Sprigs will definitely not fit my car??? So confused |

AC Schnitzer makes springs for both the 535i X Drive and the 550i X drive and also diesel variants. See the ACS website.

You can put any springs you want (like RLM did in this case) but if you ask the question of proper fitment, the answer is open to interpretation. RLM indicated no problem at all, but for long term usage, there may be sign of premature tire wear, more stress put onto the other suspension components. Who knows. I may be totally wrong of my assumption but people still do it regardless.

I will take pictures this weekend! My car is not a m-sport and it does not have Adaptive drive.
Bobblehead- I agree with you, however what made me make my decision is in speaking with H&R directly the springs for the 535i and the 550i are the same exact spring/spring rate, yet the cars weigh almost 400-500 pounds different. I'm no engineer but the only difference in my car is weight which lies right in between the 535i and 550i and four wheels move oppose to two. |
