El Mirage Dry Lake
I live about 100 miles from the lake bed. I drove there today to, what else, drive fast.
First I drove the length of the lake to see how it was laid out. I didn't want any surprises at top speeds. I turned around at the end, turned around again. Then around the other way a couple times. Next thing I know, a gentleman with a baseball bat is yelling profanities at me, swinging the bat around, saying I was going to jail and the fine was $500. I'M IN AN OHV PARK! THERE'S NO SPEED LIMIT! I took a couple of pictures while he hid the bat behind him. I went straight to the Park Headquarters and got my money back. Another day. The idea that I did all the rights things to run my car safely and legally and someone rains on my parade irritates me to no end. Jeez! What's a guy gotta do? |

Haha wtf was he thinking? I've been to sick rally events in my old Sti a couple times there, it's great fun and I'm pretty sure you're allowed to be there. I hit 130 in my sti and pulled the handbrake! Adrenaline?

You can go as fast as you want. They just don't want you leaving any ruts in the surface.
