Transmission Fluid Flush / Dealer BS

Holy Sh.........Need some advice. I recently picked up a 2008 335i with and AT transmission. I know the manual says it is supposed to have a fluid change at 100K. I called my dealer and they said $300-$1200 depending on the type of fluid it takes. So.....I questioned them. They have never done one! They have no idea what kind of fluid it takes. They have no way of flushing the torque converter. They are not sure if it has a filter!!! I have "0" confidence in these guys. Guy actually said "you just get it up to temp. and and drain it. You refill it through the dipstick. WTF....I would do it myself if that's all they are going to do. What about the filter? What about the pan? What about flushing the torque converter? I asked if they had a procedure from BMW for doing this? That's when he said....honestly we have never done one on a 335 and this is how you usually do it and went on to explain above. So.....what do I do now? Just drain and fill myself (maybe multiple times to get MOST of dirty stuff out? Leave it alone? If I do it myself, where do I get the correct fluid?

Thanks for the help.

Todd

Remember, it's the same cast of characters when your 335 gets towed in with a yellow or red engine icon and can't start. Now that's scary.

find another dealer, or demand to speak with the shop foreman.

I believe the filter is integrated into the pan anyhow here's a DIY. I would seriously run from those clowns, most dealers are bad enough but that takes the booby prize.
