3 Series Convertible Wind Deflector
Any one can recommend ?
Is it easy to use, do I need to uninstall it every time we use back seats ? Should I go for original part? |

There is only one made for an E93 and its the OEM one...As for taking on and off, its pretty easy and the deflector folds up nicely that you can fit it into the limited trunk space!

If you use the backseat for people, yes you have to remove it and stow it at home or in the trunk. I am not aware of after market deflectors other than OEM. It's easy to use. One improvement that has been made since the one I had for my E46 is that the back can be lifted up to load groceries or gear on the back seats or the flat area if the seat back is lowered, without having to remove the deflector.
The only thing about these I don't like is the gap left behind the front seats and the deflector. Any piece of paper or light clothing will be sucked up and out on the road. |

I agree with the OP.
As far as wind turbulence, I HIGHLY recommend the wind deflector. It has made cruises in colder weather much more comfortable, but really helps in all weather. You will have to remove it to have any back seat passengers but it's pretty easy to remove and reinstall. The deflector does flip up to allow you to drop things in the back seat area and then lower the deflector back into position without removing it. If you do need to remove it, you'll want the top down and then it's pretty simple to remove, fold up and place in the trunk. Easily a one man job without the need for help. During a week I had mine on & off about 6 times which wasn't much of a problem. As far as I know there are only two but actually only one deflector. They sell a plain deflector and one with a printed design but they are the same unit other than the design or lack of. If you check the BMW dealers selling on eBay you can get one at a pretty good savings. I was able to get one for over $100 less than my local dealer. It arrived in perfect condition, brand new and still in the original BMW box. Hope this helps. |

Does anyone know if they can store their wind deflector (not folded in half) in the trunk? I've noticed notches in the trunk and have wondered if that is what the wind deflector sits in. Any advice or pics would be appreciated.
