Yes since there are no police patrols on the streets, you can do anything you want as you wish.

Only if you are on Federal property and the police force that covers that property has been deemed "non essential," which is not very likely.

You may possibly get away with speeding on rural parkways.

For one, they won't be able to spend time searching for your "stolen" (lost) car.

If you're so worried about parking tickets, I think learning to read and understand signs will do wonders for that problem.

The GW parkway in VA (DC) is a nice road, patrolled by Park Service police...but maybe not next week.

Don't worry, there will still be police...BUT...will you get your federal income tax refund? No one knows.

I've heard that it wouldn't be out of the question for the treasury to continue accepting returns (taking money) but maybe not necessarily to keep issuing refunds until after the 'shutdown' - that'd be pretty funny.

Lotta love that federal guh'ment.
