Waxing

This is a quick noob question. Do you need to wax a car if it has metallic paint?

Dont want to get made fun of, just wondering. lol

Thanks

Up to you. If you want your car to look good, wax it. Waxing is not necessary for the car even if it doesn't have metallic paint. But it will help protect the clearcoat of your paint.

Yep - It makes not difference whether you have metallic or non-metallic, you still need to wax the car to protect the finish. The wax really just sits on top of the clear coat which I'm pretty sure is the same for both styles of paint.

What's your definition of expensive? Go to your local AutoZone or Pep Boy's if you want something at a normal price. For a few bucks more you can go online and get much better products. Stick with Meguiar's and Mothers if you're going to the store.

More coats ='s more reflection. More oil for the paint. My brand, Meguiars Carnuba(sp). When a bird poops on it it comes off easier and helps prevent a poop ring, an outline of the poop pile.

Wax is optional. But you must do something. Here is what I did:

This spring, I will do this again, and then wax to get the ultimate shine.

Chill out. I wasn't putting you down. I was replying to the post above mine.

I hope "calling me out" made you feel better. And for what it's worth, you might want to check these out:
