Angel Eye stopped working, any ideas?

My driver side stock angel eye stopped working on my 2008 e92 so I replaced the bulb and checked the 40W fuse but it's still not working. I'm assuming that it shares the fuse with the Adaptive Xenon lights. The Xenon light still works fine.

Going to the dealer is a hassle so I'd rather fix it myself if it's something simple. Is there another fuse in the engine compartment or anything else I should be looking at?

Thanks!

Mine started doing this to me recently too. I open the hood, play with the wire connector to the headlight in question, close the hood somewhat forcefully and it works again. So it seems to me like a jarring motion while driving (hitting a pothole for example) has enough force to loosen a connection. Realistically I should bring it in to be fixed, but since I will be trading it in soon, this is a good work around solution.

Did you try the replacement bulb in a different car? Can you connect it to a 12v source directly and verify it's your headlight that's not supplying power?

Interesting, thanks, I'll give the main headlight connector a jiggle and see if that does anything.

Thanks, I'll give it a test with my voltmeter. I don't think there will be power given that both the old and new bulb look perfect. Only way to be certain however is to test it!

Well I checked with my voltmeter than the bulb is not getting any power so it's either a fuse problem somewhere or a wiring/relay problem. As I said before, the Xenon headlights are still working so I'm not sure where the power problem is coming from.

I doubt it's a fuse. I don't think the angel eyes would be on a separate one.

Worst case you can just wire the angel eyes to your cigg lighter and they will function as DRLs.

But have you checked the harness attached to the headlight?

Are all the pins secured? Have you T-tapped any of the wires before?

I've never messed with any of the headlight or fog light components. This is a 100% stock angel eye that has stopped working.

Thanks for taking the time to reply but I just got my HPFP recall notice so I'm going to take it in for the HPFP + the angel eye problem + an early oil change. Just thought if it was something dirt simple I would avoid the dealer visit.

I will post what the outcome was once I get it back from the dealer.
