How do you gift someone?

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I want to buy something from another member but he said to just gift him the amount to his email. I don't understand exactly how to do this. Can someone advise me?

When sending payment via PayPal, choose the "Personal" option and select "Gift" from the choices. Note that if you do this, you have no buyer protection in case the sale goes south. Make sure you can trust the seller first (check their feedback, etc.).

Also you have to have an actual balance in your PP account to use the Gift Option - can't pay as Gift with credit card.

Gifting is so seller doesn't have to pay PayPal fees. Regardless of who I deal with, I never use the Gift Option. I would gladly tack the 4% xtra on to the price to cover the fees instead - and still be protected thru the sale...

So if you want protected - just tell seller you'll add the 4% fees to the price & pay thru 'Send Money' instead of Gift

biggest news on the forums! if you KNOW your seller (have met in person) and trust them then i'd say sending as a gift is no problem... HOWEVER if you don't know the person... DONT SEND AS A GIFT!

GL OP!

Thanks y'all. that has been quite helpful. I'll create a paypal account now. I figured I should b/c I have some items that I need to sell too.
