Vishnu DP - CEL- after install

Well the title pretty much explains it all. I know there are a few guys on the forum running the N55 DP. I know the CEL is due to the DP. But isnt there a way to bypass it from coming on with the procede. I already tried adjusting the O2 modifier its act to 0 % and the CEL still came on after a day of drive. Check the install no leaks , car feels great just would like to get the CEL off my dash. Any ideas?

Edit* I have not install the updated harness and software yet.

There is no o2 modifier function with the n55 application. CANclear, if left on, will keep the catless code (12550) from lighting up the SES light. I suspect you are seeing another code. You'll need to read it. It may be due to improper installation.

Hey Shiv thanks for getting back to me . I just hooked up my laptop and im getting dme codes 12253 and 12550. CanClear is turned on. And I do see under my user setting a 02 modifier field (0%-100%)

Actually, those codes are normal should not trigger an SES light with CANclear on. When you clear the codes, does the SES light stay on? After clearing, the 12253 code should come back immediately. But the 12550 will take a fair bit of driving.

I'm thinking the SES light was caused by something else which has now been cleared. But requires a few drive cycles to turn off.

The o2 modifier adjustable has no effect btw.

No after clearing the code the SES light is off . It lasts for a day , then comes back on.

Hmm... Then that means the pending catless codes aren't getting reset (by canclear) quickly enough. This hasn't been reported in any other catless car yet. And you are sure you have CANclear ON (set to 1)?

If so, just drive around normally and after 1/2 a day (before the SES light comes on), check your codes and let me know if you see the 12250 code. Basically, what I need to know is if the 12550 code is triggered before the SES light is lit (which is what I expect). Unless BMW changed this with some recent (within 2 weeks) DME update.

Hey Shiv cleared the code the car was good all night. I had the laptop hooked up to it. This morning on my way to work the SES came back on with the cat code. I dunno what to do. I cleared the fault again and reset all the adaptations.

I need to know if the code is readable before the SES light comes one. So after 1/2 a day or so of driving, check for codes. If you see the 12550 (catless code) but no SES light yet, then it's just a matter of increasing the frequency of the CANclear check. But frankly I'm a little surprised that you are seeing this as it has not been reported. And you are sure you have CANclear on (set to 1)?

Are you running a very new BMW software update released within the last 2-3 weeks?

The CanClear is set to 1. I have never updated my dme. the code 12550 seems to trip as soon as the SES light comes on, not prior. how can i adjust the canclear frequency?

Ah.. then I think the best thing to do is update your DME with newer BMW software version. I'm guessing that the early DME software did this (tripped the SES light as soon as the catless code went pending). Just like the early n54 software.

For CANclear to work, the code must be logged by the Procede before the dash light comes on. It clears/resets the code while it is in this temporary invisible state. If there is no temporary invisible state, it won't work.
