E90 330 with no miles is a better option IMHO

Or just wait for the M3 if you enjoy your RX300 at the moment

If you really want a M3 , wait for the E90 M3 in 2007. Don't get the 330i. There is no replacement for an M3.

Check out the M3, if all looks well it is a no brainer.

The e90 is new and everything but the M3 is on another driving level.

I would try to get the M3 for 40K.

If you are seriously considering the 2003 M3, beware of the potential engine problems with this model, specifically failure of the crankshaft bearings. BMW (in Canada, at least) rebuilt many of the early M3 engines @ no cost to the owners. If the engine in the car that you are considering has not been rebuilt, don't buy it.
Also, the very nature of the M3 is high performance. You will never know how this machine has been treated by the previous owner.
On the other hand, the purchase of a new E90/330i is risk free, everything is covered by a comprehensive warranty, plus you would get the benefit of the latest generation's engineering upgrades.
Good luck with your purchase decision.
